Repertoire

"Ana Maria Pinto is an enormous lied singer anywhere in the world, her inner soul is deep, she internalizes with her body and soul, poetry and music. She masters German and Portuguese, loves poetry and music, combining In addition to all this critical thinking, a tremendous dissatisfaction with everything that is not the best, having a big voice you can completely forget this power, to focus on the color of the word "Spring" contrasts with the "pale gray of the days". From Earth to Word

Da Terra à Palavrais a set of programs I created dedicated to the intersection of Portuguese poetic words with music. Poets such as Antero de Quental, Jorge de Sena, Miguel Torga were sung and honored through the construction of a series of recitals thought out to the smallest detail with the aim of magnifying the root of the Portuguese word - its Land and its soul. All programs are my own and were carried out between 2013 and 2016 with pianist Joana Resende. In 2017, the album Anterianas was released as a materialization of this concept and as a tribute to the great poet Antero de Quental.

Anterianas

Artists bring together the loose pieces of the world. Freitas Branco and Schubert meet here not because the Portuguese was in charge of publishing a biography of Schubert, not because Antero won over the composer with the poetic beauty of his Idea: what unites the loose links of this chain is not an idea , rather its antithesis. Because we meet here, interpreters and listeners, poets and composers, Portuguese and German words and gestures from such different centuries... Face to face, Der Tod und das Mädchen, it is from mystery that revelation springs. Word and music are intimately linked in 21 ways of saying the same thing, interconnected by the guiding thread of what never appears in the mind without first passing through the heart. Death and girl in the space of the unspeakable, in the silence and magnificence of the stars: a solar opening over the incorruptible sky of Consciousness.

4 Quadros para Luís de Freitas Branco

The 4 paintings aim to expose not only the European influences that ended up revolutionizing the Portuguese musical panorama, but also 4 paintings alluding to the atmosphere that surrounded the sensibilities of the time: a first, in a winged way, represents the desire for purification, another sinks into the most painful melancholy, the third, based on the surface of blackness, tells the agony of hunger and the feeling of dispersion caused by war, and finally, something of the highest intimacy, it portrays the desire to withdraw from the outside world to another fabric of the imagination. The hand that leads us from one painting to another will be that of Gustav Mahler, considered by many to be a visionary who, with his high sensitivity, intuited what was coming at the beginning of the 20th century.

Homenagem a Jorge de Sena

Premiere of the 2 Song Cycles dedicated to Jorge de Sena - "As Evidências", "Coroa da Terra". Excerpts from Art of Music.

Diários em Música. Miguel Torga e Fernando Lopes-Graça

A set of 2 recitals dedicated to Miguel Torga's diaries. Excerpts from the diaries are read and interspersed with a musical painting of them, music by Lopes-Graça, Mompou, Fernando Lapa and Hugo Wolf.

- Reading excerpts from Diaries I-VIII.

- Songs by Fernando Lopes Graça and Federico Mompou.

- Photographs by Georges Dussaud

Fernando Lopes-Graça, who receives the integration of traditional music from Bartok, finds its greatest roots in Falla and Andalusian folklore. Thus, bringing to life the many ethnographic documents from the border regions, let us hear through his hand the Iberian inbreeding of our music. Federico Mompou, whose mother was of French origin, shared the chalice of lights with Graça for a few years. Ravel, Debussy and the Group of Six each equipped themselves with their own language, markedly of the land and for the land

.

Folhas Caídas - Robert Schumann e Almeida Garrett

The Liederkreis op. 39 by Robert Schumann is interspersed with Folhas Caídas by Almeida Garrett. Recital held at the Museu Romântico and Fundação Passos Canavarro, with baritone Job Tomé.

Dois Marinheiros na Margem - Eugénio de Andrade e Garcia Lorca

A recital, an invitation to sail: Smooth world, beaded sea, a hundred stars and a boat; words by Federico García Lorca, translated by the poet Eugénio de Andrade, in the poem two sailors on the shore.

Sea and Song are the movement and invocation of poets "thirsty for being", who "seek a reconciliation, a supreme harmony between light and shadow, presence and absence, plenitude and lack".

Ou a Fragueira ou Paris - Francisco de Lacerda em Viagem

Or Fragueira, or Paris, a phrase attributed to the composer Francisco de Lacerda, is the title of a recital that establishes a bridge between two places that influenced the work of one of the most relevant and iconic Portuguese composers of the 20th century: the Azores, the home, and Paris, city of lights. The timbrel and the dance movement will be the root and the journey. Trovas and French songs, nostalgia and the future.
